  • Enchanted Rock:  A hikers dream and spanning 10,000 years old is really pink! A granite dome in the hill country is 325 feet high and many come from all over the world to feel its spiritual existence.  A must-experience but plan this trip in advance because the park does reach capacity and rangers close it for the next opening.

  • On the Route 66!  This famous 2-lane highway stretches across the Texas panhandle into Amarillo​. The local cafes, antique shops, and tourist shops are the true beauties along the route where you will find countless souvenirs. Stop by the Cadillac Ranch for a bizarre look at how an artist expresses his love of the golden age of Cadillac.  And don't forget to visit Big Texan Steak House! Opened in 1960 and known for its famous 72 ounce steak, founder "Bob" Lee didn't know he would be one  of Texas legends!  www.bigtexan.com

  • I'm a Pepper, too!​  Dr. Pepper flavored soda originated in Waco and if you are a die-hard fan, you got to visit this museum. Have some soda samples and don't forget to check out the souvenirs, absolute treasures.    

  • Let's go to Luckenbach!​  Situated in the hill country near Fredericksburg, just outside Austin is a small unincorporated community made famous by Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson's "Luckenbach Texas".  A real hole-in-the-wall, is a special place where talented Texas country artists go to sing their hearts out.  

  • Big Texas sky requires large telescope! ​ Not only do the stars in Texas shine big and bright, but the large telescopes at McDonald Observatory in Fort Davis are an impressive and educational way to discover the Texas galaxy.  Celebrating 75 years in 2014, this adventure is sure to keep the mysteries alive.   While in Fort Davis, check out the breath-taking historical Indian Lodge for accommodations.  There is more to see in Fort Davis! 

  • Camels on the Texas Frontier?  Camp Verde General Store​ a historical attraction you won't want to miss!   • Got RV? Most RVers take to the road and explore the towns in between. But if you have kids, you gotta see Yogi Bear Jellystone Park! This destination is the perfect setting for camping activities for the whole family ALL YEAR long! From waterslides to outdoor movie night, you will want to return to experience monthly attractions such as in the month of October. The entire park is Halloween fun. Campers decorate their sites in spooky fun for prizes while kids go trick or treating and enjoy the spook house or the pumpkin patch.  Plenty of cabins and RV hook-ups but schedule early because this destination fills up fasts.  


  • If you are gonna live in Texas, you gotta experience the cowboy story-telling capital in George West!  Every autumn the best performers come out to compete for who has the best folk-tale of history, poetry, and the biggest liars contest.  Come celebrate the heritage, food, fun.  Gaze at the night stars over camp-fires, listen to Texas folk-bands, and enjoy Texas storytelling masters bring folk-tales to life. 


  • Take a spectacular train ride on the Austin Steam Train!  Throughout the year, enjoy theme rides pleasurable for all ages. Located in Cedar Park, Tx, take a journey on this restored locomotive managed by volunteers at the Austin Steam Train Association.


  • Movies are better at the Drive-In!  Bundle up with a cozy warm blanket in the fall or bring the lawn chairs in the summer cuz the best movie effects are happening outdoors!  Get ready to view two movie features for the price of one!  And don't forget to head to the concession stand 'cuz its got all the yummy favorites!
